Start developing technical skills in solar design, from mounting layouts to energy-output calculations.

This trainee role offers the opportunity to learn how solar designs are prepared, checked and supported by specialist software, working alongside the wider team under supervision.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Technical layouts: Learning to produce 2D and 3D mounting configurations.

• Yield performance: Using specialist software to calculate solar irradiation, shading and overall annual energy output.

• Working on panel configurations and string layouts.

• Processing data.

• Estimating costs.

• Collaborating with the wider team to check final design specifications.

• Using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
